Coding for young children
ScratchJr is an introductory programming language that enables young children (ages 5-7) to create their own interactive stories and games. As children create projects with ScratchJr, they learn important design and problem-solving skills that are foundational for later success. ScratchJr supports the development of early numeracy and literacy, providing opportunities for children to use math and language in a meaningful and motivating context.

An iPad version of ScratchJr will be available in summer 2014. An Android version will be available later in the year.

ScratchJr is a collaboration between the DevTech Research Group at Tufts University, the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab, and the Playful Invention Company.
